Segment #1: New Releases
Neil brings in a live disc from guitarist Sheryl Bailey's trio, which features the up-and-coming Gary Versace on Hammond organ. Mark spins the newest disc from veteran trombonist Steve Turre, an inventive collection including instruments as diverse as vibraphone, cello, and conch shell.

Segment #2: Discussion - The Legacy of Billy Strayhorn

Neil and Mark present Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life, a new documentary about the renowned songwriter, arranger, and Duke Ellington colleague. In a conversation recorded at the International Association for Jazz Education convention in New York City, they spoke with the film's director, Robert Levi, and Strayhorn's niece Alyce Claerbaut.

Segment #3: Interview - Jon Faddis

Neil and Mark talk with the trumpeter, educator, and bandleader, Jon Faddis. He shares the new album featuring his quartet, and discusses the two different big bands he currently helms.
 

Segment #4: "For Your Ears Only" Listening Quiz

Neil and Mark decide that they have heard enough Ellington and enough Strayhorn to tell these famously collaborative songwriters apart in this week's competition.
